Age in Units Calculator

Your age in days, hours, minutes, and seconds.

Show details

Your age is usually just a number of years — but it's also a specific and rather large number of days, hours, minutes, and seconds. Enter your date of birth to see your age in every unit, alongside the exact years-months-days breakdown.

How Many Days Old Am I? — The Quick Answer

Count the days from your birth date to today. As a rough guide, a year is about 365.25 days, so multiply your age by 365.25 for an estimate — but the exact figure depends on precisely which leap years you've lived through.

Shortcut

total days = today − date of birth (real calendar days, leap years included)

Rough totals per year of age

AgeApprox. daysApprox. hours
10 years~3,653~87,660
21 years~7,670~184,090
30 years~10,958~262,980
50 years~18,263~438,300

These are averages — the true totals are slightly higher or lower depending on how many leap years fall in your lifetime. The calculator counts the exact figure, down to the second.

How It Works

1
Enter your date of birth
2
The calculator counts the exact real days from then until today, leap years included
3
It converts that total into weeks, months, hours, minutes, and seconds
4
It also breaks your age into whole years, whole months, and remaining days — the precise human-readable form
5
Everything updates to today's date automatically

The Method

Counting real days, then converting

Formula

total days = today − date of birth hours = days × 24, minutes = days × 1440, seconds = days × 86400

Variables

years, months, days

The exact breakdown

The most accurate expression of age: count whole years, then whole months, then leftover days. This respects each month's true length, unlike dividing total days by 365.25.

× 24 × 60 × 60

Converting to smaller units

Once the total days are known, hours are days × 24, minutes are days × 1440, and seconds are days × 86,400. Simple flat conversions, because a day is always 24 hours.

Note: Leap years matter here: each one adds an extra day, so a rough '× 365.25' estimate drifts by a day or so over long spans. The exact count uses real calendar arithmetic.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find out how many days old I am?

Enter your date of birth. The calculator counts the exact number of days from that date to today — for example, someone born on 1 January 2000 was about 9,000 days old in mid-2024. It also shows your age in weeks, hours, minutes, and seconds.

How many hours, minutes, and seconds have I been alive?

Once the total days are known, multiply: hours = days × 24, minutes = days × 1,440, seconds = days × 86,400. A 30-year-old has been alive for roughly 9,000+ days, which is about 940,000+ hours or more than 3.4 billion seconds.

Does it account for leap years?

Yes. It counts actual calendar days, so every 29 February in your lifetime adds a day to the total. That's why the exact figure is slightly different from multiplying your age by 365 — the difference grows the older you get.

What's the difference between this and an age calculator?

An age calculator usually returns your age in years, months, and days. This one gives the same breakdown but also converts your entire life so far into total days, weeks, hours, minutes, and seconds — for when you want the big, precise numbers.
