What a Timed Click Exercise Actually Measures

A simple rate has simple limits

A timed click exercise counts registered clicks and divides by elapsed time. The result is an average rate for that round, not a measure of general dexterity or a guarantee about performance in another application.

Mouse switches, touchscreens, operating-system settings, browser load, and the selected interval can all change the count. A short round is especially sensitive to when the timer starts and stops.

Compare like with like

For practice, repeat with the same device, duration, and posture. Avoid comparing results from different hardware as if they were measured under identical conditions.

The timed clicking activity keeps its count in the page and reports the average. Take breaks if repetitive clicking becomes uncomfortable.
